Ever wonder what it takes to turn a passion for cars into a publishing business?
Cars & Coffee Magazine is a quarterly print publication built for the custom car world, from early morning meetups to high end builds, pairing national editorial with coverage that only a local owner can produce.
Founder Mitch Roberts spent 27 years building magazines, before launching Cars & Coffee Magazine as a national local hybrid: professional national content on one side of the book, and a franchisee’s own market on the other.
Now that model is opening to franchise owners. You are not joining a masthead. You are building a local media business under a national name, with your market’s advertisers, events, and car culture as your beat.
Corporate delivers 40 professionally produced Common Pages every issue. You own and sell the other 40, the Local Scene section, in your exclusive territory.
We do not sell, staff, or operate inside your protected market. It is yours to build.
No lease, no build-out, no storefront. Run the business from a home office.
POS/CRM, QuickBooks accounting, and a national content pipeline come standard, so you are not building infrastructure from scratch.
A five-year term with the option to renew three more times, for up to twenty years of ownership.
Get in on the ground floor of a national brand before your market is claimed.
We are looking for owner-operators who already know how to sell relationships, not just ad space.
A proven ad sales professional or entrepreneur comfortable selling relationships, not just square inches.
Well regarded in your community, with existing ties to local businesses, shops, and events.
Ready to run day-today operations yourself, not manage from a distance.
Comfortable balancing client meetings, content deadlines, and a quarterly production cycle.
Committed to long-term advertiser relationships over one-off sales.
Ready to give this your full attention, especially in year one.
You don’t need a journalism background. Local car enthusiasts and contributors regularly provide content and photography for exposure, so your job is building the business, not filling every page yourself.
Classroom training at our Florida headquarters covers sales, operations, and the editorial process before you open, followed by on-site support at your launch. Our in-house design team helps lay out your first few issues. We’ll also vet your own designer hire to confirm they’re ready to take over.
Structured, phase-based coaching that starts hands-on and shifts to advisory as you master the model. Early checkins and coaching give way to strategic conversations as your numbers grow.
National brand marketing, social media, and website management are handled by corporate, with clear guidelines for your local promotion.
Annual refresher training and continued access to our national editorial pipeline keep every local edition sharp, issue after issue.
Car culture is having a national moment, and most markets still do not have a hometown magazine built for it. Cars & Coffee Magazine is awarding a limited number of territories over the next five years, and early owners become the exclusive publisher in their market before anyone else gets the chance.
To get started, fill out the franchise form.
This is not a franchise offering. A franchise offering can be made by us only in a state if we are first registered, excluded, exempted or otherwise qualified to offer franchises in that state, and only if we provide you with an appropriate franchise disclosure document. Follow-up or individualized responses to you that involve either effecting or attempting to effect the sale of a franchise will be made only if we are first in compliance with state registration requirements, or are covered by an applicable state exclusion or exemption.
