Born out of the BBQ competition circuit starting in 2000, BP Smokehouse has its roots in the truest form of BBQ. Founder and former Wisconsin State Trooper Darren Price started with a small smoker and trailer, honing his craft by traveling across the country competing in local, regional, and national BBQ Competitions.

In 2003, Darren won his first major State Championship, qualifying for both the Jack Daniels World and the American Royal Invitationals. Following a whirlwind of awards and press exposure, including a feature on FoodTV, Darren launched a catering business which is the cornerstone of the BP Smokehouse business.

Together with his wife, Army veteran and member of the Ho-Chunk Nation Myra Jo (Blackdeer) Price, Darren developed proprietary rubs, sauces, and a reputation for serving the best BBQ in the Midwest and beyond.

With a successful catering operation and a 60 seat dine-in restaurant opened in 2014, the Price family are BBQ royalty in Tomah, Wisconsin. Having perfected their particular culinary art, they’re ready to welcome new BBQ entrepreneurs to their brand through franchise offerings.
